# Typography

Four font families are bundled from the Google Fonts source repository, with original OFL license text in each family directory. Desktop TTFs contain the supplied character sets; WOFF2 exports retain those glyphs without subsetting. Every shipped font is checked for ČĆŽŠĐčćžšđ. This is not a claim of support for all languages.

Manrope does not ship a true italic here. Do not synthesize italic in exported brand artwork. Use weight or color for emphasis instead.

The marketing website's generically named `mono.woff2` was inspected and identified as JetBrains Mono 2.211; `inter.woff2` was Inter 4.001. This kit uses the full upstream font files recorded in the manifest, not those web subsets. Existing web typography remains unchanged. Font version and family metadata for this kit are in [metadata.json](../assets/fonts/metadata.json).

## Install for design tools

Open a TTF from `assets/fonts/<family>/desktop/` with your operating system's font manager and install it for your user. Use the variable face in current tools; older applications may require static instances exported by a font editor. No font is installed automatically by this repository.

## Self-host

Copy `assets/fonts/` and import `assets/fonts/fonts.css`. The stylesheet defines the available families and weights; only used faces need to be loaded by the browser. To keep a project smaller, copy just the selected family and its corresponding `@font-face` rules, preserving `OFL.txt`.

The web font definitions use relative paths, `font-display: swap` and no tracking or external CDN requests. Tokens include system fallbacks. See [font-sources.json](../sources/font-sources.json) for exact upstream URLs and Git blob checksums. The manifest records SHA-256 for every original font, license and WOFF2 export.

The recommended type scale is 12 / 16 / 20 / 32 / 64 px. This small reusable scale is a kit recommendation, not an extraction of every web heading size. Use responsive sizing and comfortable line lengths in real applications.
